David Blackwell turned his hobby of collecting Honda Monkey Bikes into a business after a seven minute article about Honda Monkey Bikes on the BBC Top Gear program in May 1997. The Business was named Monkey Bike UK. The business enjoyed a steady growth over the following years, selling both original Honda parts and after market independently branded custom parts suitable for the marque.
In October 2011 it was bought to our attention that in January 2006 Honda Europe registered the word "Monkey" as a trade mark relating to Motorcycles and Motorcycle parts.
In view of this it was decided to change our trading name, as from the 1st January 2013 our new trading name will be Shire Bikes. We offer a comprehensive range of genuine Honda, reproduction and custom parts from our all new on-line store. Our customers new and old will benefit from our huge stock of parts and our many years of experience serving the marque.
